Society’s Functions
Advocacy:
Promote growth and development of deeds and actions that promotes the health of the people.
Liaison:
Maintain constant contact with national and international organizations for exchange or sharing of experiences and expertise such as the WHO, UNICEF, UNESCO, NCERT, IUHPE etc.
Networking:
Stimulate/support effective links in health promotion and education with national and international organizations.
Consultancy:
Provide technical support or advisory services to national and state government on health promotion and health education implications in their Public Health Policies and Programs.
Capacity Building:
Improve competencies of medical and para-medical personnel essential to promote health education as an integral component of Public Health Services.
Research:
In Health promotion and education, the need for strong and credible knowledge base is essential to improve delivery of health care services. GSHPE undertakes action research programs sponsored by national and state governments on problems identified by them.
GSHPE Publications:
“Promotion & Education”, is an official publication of GSHPE published half yearly, which contains peer-reviewed articles addressed to professionals interested or involved in Health Promotion and Health Education. All the life members and institutional members receive the journal free of cost. Non-members can also subscribe to the journal.
